BS EN ISO 9000 is a generic name given to a family of standards developed to provide a framework around which a quality management system can effectively be implemented.
VERCO’s Quality Management System, in accordance with BS EN ISO 9001:2015 provides us with a set of processes that ensure a common sense approach to our organisation’s management.
The system should ensure consistency and improvement of working practices, which in turn provides products and services that meet customer’s requirements.
Improving our environmental performance is a belief that we have held since our inception in 1912. We’ve worked to introduce environmental improvements throughout our manufacturing process and wherever possible reduce the environmental impact of all our operations enabling us to secure certification to the Environmental Management System BS EN ISO 14001:2015.
BS EN ISO 14001 is an internationally accepted standard that sets out how Companies can establish an effective and auditable Environmental Management System.
VERCO’s Environmental Policy – in accordance with BS EN ISO 14001 – seeks to identify and minimise the impact of the company’s operations on the environment, whilst maintaining sensitivity to the full range of customer expectations. Certification requires the development, approval and implementation of a wide ranging policy relating to the environmental impact of manufacturing processes and product design.
VERCO seeks to prevent pollution through a continual process designed to identify, evaluate and wherever possible, reduce the impact of our operations on the environment.
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) purpose is to promote environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable management of the world’s forests to meet the needs of the present generation, without compromising those of future generations. It does this by developing standards, certification and through trademark recognition. The process of tracking a product back to the source forest is called ‘Chain of custody’ (C.O.C.) Certification.
Through C.O.C., a Company can demonstrate their commitment to the environment and responsible forest management. Over 99% of the Melamine faced chipboard used in our industry has been sourced from FSC certified suppliers.
As one of the UK’s leading office furniture manufacturers we are committed to protecting the environment. We believe the time taken at the design stage of any new product can have an immediate and fundamental effect on that product’s environmental impact. From the careful selection of materials to maximize the recycled content and to minimize both the energy and CO2 footprints, to the ‘end of life’ recyclability of the component parts, particular consideration has been given to the environmental impact at every stage, from the design concept through to final production.
